Who we are

Cachard is made by Bartlett Electronics, Bartlett, Tennessee, USA. This policy covers the cachard.app website and the Cachard update service at updates.cachard.app. Questions: support@cachard.app.

Cachard runs on your servers

Cachard is installed on infrastructure you control. We don't receive, host or have access to the data in your console (your Macs, sites, traffic history, users or settings) unless you send it to us, for example in a support bundle. Support bundles have passwords, keys, tokens and the license key removed before they leave your server.

What we collect, and why

  • Trial, quote and partner requests. Your name, work email, organization, organization type, number of caching Macs and anything you write in the form, plus the country your request came from. We use these to send what you asked for, reply to you and follow up about Cachard (including one check-in email near the end of a trial).
  • Downloads. When you use an emailed download link we record that it was used and when, so we know the email arrived.
  • Update checks. If automatic update checking is on, a console sends its installed Cachard version, release channel and license ID (or "trial") about once a day. When it downloads an update it sends its license key so we can confirm the license covers that release; we check the key and don't store it.
  • Network addresses. We don't store IP addresses. For rate limiting and to count servers, we keep a one-way salted hash of the address instead.

What we don't do

We don't sell or rent your information, use advertising or tracking cookies, or build advertising profiles. This site sets no cookies of its own.

Services we use

  • Cloudflare hosts this site and the update service, and its Turnstile check helps keep spam out of the forms. Turnstile may process browser and device signals to tell people from bots.
  • Resend delivers the emails we send you.
  • Google Fonts serves the typefaces on this site, so your browser requests them from Google.

How long we keep it

Form requests are kept while we're in touch about Cachard and for up to two years after our last contact. Update check-in records are deleted after 13 months. Email records kept by our email provider follow its retention policy.

Your choices

Email support@cachard.app to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or to stop follow-up emails. Update checks can be turned off in the console under Settings → Updates.

Children

This site and Cachard are for IT staff at organizations. We don't knowingly collect information from children. Cachard doesn't collect information about the students or staff whose devices use your caching servers.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date below and, for significant changes, tell customers by email.
